I'm writing this as I sit here on this first Sunday morning in August from my balcony in Santa Fe, NM. The moon is shining in the morning sky with the most perfect puffy purply-gray clouds that are becoming tinged with shades of pink the longer I sit here as the sun rises, all on a backdrop of the signature Santa Fe blue sky, like in the picture I took above.
I'm enjoying the cool breeze before the heat sets in. I'm drinking my greens and then will be onto sipping my earl grey tea, one of my recent morning favorites. I'm listening to a Relaxing Sunday Mornings indie music playlist on Spotify by alexrainbirdMusic. Then I'll head to a local cafe to do some coffee journaling.
The gentleness of the morning makes me happy, brings me peace and sets the foundation for the rest of my day.
I ponder transition, settling, and above all, gratitude for this journey.
It's been awhile since I last wrote to you. If you are new around here, welcome!
You get to join us as I begin a new journey.
This was my first out-of-state move and a pretty big leap in distance, as well as a leap of faith in listening to the call of my soul that led me here. If you've been following along for awhile, one thing you have heard me say before is that I always follow my curiosity and my heart and that has never led me to the wrong place.
Where is your curiosity and your heart trying to lead you to right now? If you feel something so strongly and are holding back right now, for whatever reason and whatever it is, I encourage you to consider doing that too- Follow your curiosity and your heart!
I was nervous and feeling all the feels leading up to the move, but my transition has been so surprisingly smooth, with so much gratitude for the people I've met and work with here and my petlings, Olley the frenchie and Chai the cat, that joined me on this journey and bring a constant reminder that we are adaptable and can be more than okay with change. I feel like I've found my place and my people here.
I've been on a little hiatus with writing to you, posts, podcasts and events leading up to and during my transition from Pennsylvania to New Mexico but now that I'm feeling all settled, you'll receive a weekly Sunday morning newsletter from me that I'm naming gentle mornings where I write to you about some thoughts, feels and ponderings for reflection from my week that I hope you might connect with too.
The more I connect with others, the more I find that there's an energy or particular feels that we are all going through around the same time. Sometimes you might not be aware. Other times you might be hyper-aware. But I hope sharing my experiences can also help you know that you are not alone and also encourage some reflection about your own week and life so you can go deeper with where you are on your journey.
How do you feel before, during and after a transition? What was the last major transition that you had in your life? Is there a transition that is waiting for you to take a step towards? What holds you back from making transitions? or what makes you say yes and go all in? What does settling mean to you? How do you personally feel settled?
The Just Earthly Podcast for self- and world- healing through nature on Spotify will also be coming back with new episodes released on Tuesdays very very soon. Don't forget to follow the podcast! Catch up while you can because I have many more interviews waiting to be released with so many amazing humans doing amazing things and I don't want you to miss out about their journey and how they heal through nature.
I love you all!🙏🏻❤️🌎
